what's new...
with the haseyama family? The following information is not always interesting, or timely... but it's accurate.

baby blake and other news - November 28, 2005
These entries are getting shorter and shorter since we are finding less and less free time. In any case, a lot has happened in the last year from the kids starting school to the birth of blake a few months ago. Check out the latest photos if you want to see what we've been up to.

long overdue update - July 12, 2004
Okay, so it's been a LONG time since this site was updated. In the last 8 months, Kai turned 2, Amy and the kids went to New Hampshire to visit family, and a good portion of everyone's time has been dedicated to working on the house.

new house! - November 10, 2003
We outgrew our house and decided to up and move. Too bad it will triple Todd's commute time. Oh well, the sacrifice was made to be closer to the ocean. Make sure you check out the photos of the house. But try to imagine it without the furniture... it's not ours.

The house is located in Encinitas, CA about 5 minutes from the ocean. It is more than enough house for us and will be perfect for entertaining. So, feel free to stop in for a visit and we'll be sure to accomodate you for a very reasonable guest rate.

The other exciting news, but probably only to Todd, is that he recently played a round of golf at The Bridges golf course in Rancho Santa Fe. It was truly a religious experience. He will also be playing the Farms in Rancho Santa Fe with professional golfer Tom Lehman!

darian's 4th birthday! - October 13, 2003
Darian's birthday went off without a hitch. She raked in tons of presents and ate her fill of cake. We're all excited and somewhat scared to see how much she has grown up.

Kai is still working on mastering the whole "talking" thing, but he'll catch on soon. He seems more interested in climbing and jumping off tall objects. He and Darian couldn't be more different.

todd's new job - September 22, 2003
Yup, Todd is now working for Hewlett-Packard doing design and evaluation for the home printing division. He is trying to improve the quality and user experience of the installation process, accompanying software, and the printer driver attributes. Beyond this, he will work on bringing some innovative ideas for you photo enthusiasts to the market place. Quite a change from working on TurboTax.

kai's 1st birthday - February 11, 2003
It's Kai's first birthday and he's living large, so to speak. Yes, he happens to be abnormally large for a Haseyama, but is slimming down now that he's up and running around. If the slim fast diet fails, however, we'll see if we can start training him early for sumo wrestling.

Darian has been potty trained for a few months now, sleeping from 8PM to 8AM, and dressing herself with an innate sense of fashion. I think we'll keep her.

annual redesign - February 1, 2003
We've redesigned the site with a new look (it's about time)! There will be some new pictures added to the site as well in the next week. We've made an executive decision to eliminate the movies from the site because they were too big and too buggy. If you want to see videos, you're going to have to come over for some home movies on the VCR.  Everything else on the site is the same.... hopefully the turnaround time on the updates will improve.

hawaii vacation - January 14, 2003
Hawaii was a blast! I know that I used to spend every summer in Lahaina, starting at age 2, but it never gets old. Of course there are a lot of changes on the island, and I end up complaining about how different it is now, but I digress. Nevertheless, I still end up thinking the same thing every time I visit, "I should move out there permanently."

The kids loved it there and Grandma spoiled them rotten. We NEVER could have done this trip without her help. Gonna have to bring my parents on every vacation with us. I managed to play a little golf and watch the Mercedes golf tournament on the Kapalua Plantation course. Of course we spent many days at the beach counting down the minutes til we have to fly back home to reality. It's a shame that vacation has to come to an end, but it makes coming back that much better. We're going to try to make this an annual thing, if our bank accounts can handle it. Check out the photos section for some of the pictures from the vacation.

summer update - July 27, 2002
Thank you for supporting the development of Haseyama.com! We have been highly successful over the past 4 months, despite the fact that no donations have come in to support the site.  In any case, there have been quite a few visitors, numbering in the tens, and countless emails from friends and family.

We have been a little behind with the updates but promise to post more pictures as soon as the kids start doing interesting things.

At 5 months, Kai is rolling over and reaching for objects. We're eagerly awaiting his next milestones, but we're in no hurry to chase him around the house. Kai also managed to grow a few teeth and had his first haircut last week.  This has helped everyone realize that he is a BOY! If I only had a nickel for every time someone said, "oh what a pretty girl..."

Thankfully, Kai has just recently started sleeping through the night and on a regular eating schedule. Of course, we think he could stand to lose a feeding or two. Kai tipped the scales at 19lbs for his last checkup and will soon outweigh Darian.  Can you say Slimfast?

Last week, Darian insisted that she get her haircut and styled.  So, we went ahead and took her to get her first haircut, 3 days after Kai got his first haircut. There are a few pictures of her in the photos section capturing the event.

Darian is still a little shy around new people but will cling to you and chat your ear off once she gets to know you.  She loves to sing, dance, and tell stories without beginnings or endings.  Darian has become quite fond of hula dancing and will perform daily in the comfort of her home.  Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Amy is back on her workout schedule now that the kids are entertaining themselves.  She is tossing around the idea of rejoining a softball team but not before she get a little practice in. We'll keep you updated on future activities with pictures and articles.

Amy has taken on a few projects around the house that are still in the works.  The most recent project consisted of painting the living room and hallway.  We hired people to install new recessed lighting and retexture the ceilings.  Next, we're thinking about putting in wood floors... We're still not sure whether or not we're going to try to tackle this one ourselves or hire someone to do it.  I suspect the latter will occur. We'll have some get-togethers soon after the household projects have been completed.

Todd has been working some long hours lately at Intuit. There are lots of new things to look forward to with TurboTax.  Check them out at http://www.turbotax.com and let him know what you think.

We just returned from a 10-day trip to Florida.  Todd attended a conference with his work group, and was able to turn some of the trip into a family vacation.  We were able to go to Disney World multiple times, and play some hot humid golf at some of the best courses in the nation.  Check out the latest photos of our trip and the courses we played.

Todd is taking the summer off softball, but is playing volleyball to keep active.  Look for him to come out of retirement sometime next fall or winter.

welcome home - March 26, 2002
For the first month, Kai was sleeping through the day and staying up through the night.  But an amazing thing happened recently... he dropped the daytime sleeping.  So, we get to enjoy his company 24/7!

Kai is eating every 2 hours and can put away about 4-6 ounces in a sitting.  At 6 weeks, he is currently outgrowing his 3 month old clothes.  Mathematically, he is expected to be around 520lbs by his 30th birthday.

There was some concern that Darian would be vying for attention and harboring some amount of jealousy with the arrival of Kai.  However, nothing could be further from the truth as she has been eager to help out and play with her new baby brother.  She has been a big help with talking and singing to Kai and bringing diapers to him when he "smells stinky."

Darian seems to be very excited about having a new face in the house and is eager to have someone to play with.

Amy has her hands full lately at home with the kids but she will be returning to her teaching position at Los Penasquitos Elementary School in April to finish out the school year.  However, she will be retiring after this year so she can spend some "quality time" with Darian and Kai.

Todd is eagerly anticipating the baseball season so he can follow his fantasy baseball team to victory.  The marathon 6 hour draft helped him acquire Alex Rodriguez, Juan Gonzalez, Jason Giambi and has-been pitcher Kevin Brown.

Other happy events will follow once tax season ends and the job efforts settle a bit.  Todd and the family are planning some vacations to Florida, Hawaii, and Seattle.  A complete tour schedule will be posted when plans firm up a little.

grand opening - March 20, 2002
This up and coming "dotcom" has been in the works for many years and thanks to the help of Brad Beith and Ready Hosting, the site is fully operational.  All of the content on this site is free, but donations are welcomed to help further the development of our bank account.

The links along the left will help you navigate to all of the content within the site.  In the future, photos will probably be the area where most of the changes occur.  However, feel free to check out the site homepage to see a quick look at recent activity.

Chat and message boards are currently not supported on this site, but you can contact us and we'll try to respond to our voluminous email as time permits.

A special thanks to the content and development teams at Haseyama.com who have worked tirelessly to bring you current events and the latest pictures and movies of the Haseyama family.
